Description
Contains two bestiaries (or Physiologus versions) and an aviary. This combination ot texts is known as the De bestiis et aliis rebus, which is usually falsely attributed to Hugh of St Victor.
Folios 1r-4v: Partial bestiary or Physiologus version. Colored initials for each chapter.
Folios 5r-27r: The Aviarium of Hugh of Fouilloy; all normal chapters are present, plus the Coot and Ibis chapters on folios 27v-29v. 30 full color illustrations; multi-color initial at the beginning, colored initials for each chapter.
Clark aviary group: Paris.
This is the manuscript designated P in Clark's edition.
Folios 29v-47: Bestiary or Physiologus version. 34 full color illustrations, colored initials for each chapter.
Also contains Hugh of Fouilloy De rota and De medicine animae; an essay on the dove; poems on the Virtues and Vices.
