There were some problems when parts of this site (particularly the Gallery pages) were viewed with Netscape Navigator 7. Navigator 7 is (rightly) more picky about HTML coding errors than Internet Explorer, and scornfully rejected some of my code. All better now, I hope! Two more digital texts

Two more digital texts are now available: The Bestiary of Philippe de Thaon, in Anglo-Norman verse with an English translation, edited by Thomas Wright in 1841; and The Bestiary, a general introduction to the bestiary genre by M. R. James (1932). There are also a few more entries in the bibliography.

Large update, new images

This is a very large update. By permission of the Manuscript Department of the Kongelige Bibliotek, Copenhagen, most beasts now have at least one illustration.
