Description
The Plumen der tugent (Blumen der Tugend), a German version of the Fiore di virtù. This is a prose translation by Heinrich Schlüsselfelder. Illustrated with washed pen drawings of animals; a few of the animal illustrations are copperplate engravings. Most of the illustrations just show the animal itself, not displaying any of the attributes described in the text. There are also four full page engravings representing the cardinal virtues, personified as women. Chapters XXXI (onager) and XXXII (vulture) are missing.
