Description
An excerpt from the Ysengrimus by Nivardus Gandavensis (Nivard de Gand) is embedded in the Vitalis Blesensis (folio 46r-60v).
This is the manuscript designated g by Ernst Voigt.
Towards the middle of the volume, the fifth part of the Vitalis Blesensis is followed by three sheets - between f. 1 and 2 a sheet is cut out, at the end a whole folio is missing - with the heading 'alii uersus', 182, extending from I 17 to V 4 - furthermore only the hexameter V 1189, which was changed [to be] before III 178, is preserved - containing sayings of Ysengrimus; since the writer wanted to give all thought verses in couplets, he often clumsily connected distant verses, some sayings are chosen in an incomprehensible way because they have too close a connection to the plot, many are omitted or changed in order. - [Voigt]
