Description
The fragmentary Tuscan Bestiary (also known as the Libro della natuara degli animali) is on folio 1r-33v. It contains 42 chapters, the first of which is on the swan and the last of which deals with the snake "feminine". On the margins are often written, by another hand, French, Greek and German glosses (animal names). The usual collection of fables is not included in this manuscript.
This Tuscan Bestiary manuscript is designated R2.
The beast list is derived from Kenneth McKenzie (page 407-408), not from the manuscript itself.
