The text called 'Livro das Aves' consists of a bestiary about birds in medieval Portuguese, a free translation of the Latin work 'Aviarium' written by the French monk Hugh of Fouilloy. The text is only partially handed down by a single manuscript dating back to the 14th century, and kept by Brasilia's University Library [Universidade de Brasilia Biblioteca Central, Ms.02].
