Description
The Miroir de l'humaine salvation is a French translation of the Speculum Humanae Salvationis, a theological text on the Christian story of the salvation of humanity by Christ. Its interest here is not so much for the text, but for the illustrations of the elephant, whale, ostrich, thamur and other animals found in most of the manuscripts containing this text.
The illustrations are color pastel drawings, two per page, at the top of each page column.
Alternate shelfmarks: Rigault II 414; Dupuy II 374; Anc. 6848.
