Description

Contains two fragments of the Roman de Renart, both of the 13th century, from two different manuscripts.

  1. Folio 4v: 106 lines of verse, with a modern transcription on folio 5. Verses 857 to 965 of Branch XI. Incipit: mon saignor l'empereor Noble; s'ai esté en Constantinoble… Explicit: … nule vengance de Renart. Tantost se rest mis a la voie. This is the manuscript designated h by Ernest Martin. Edited by Gaston Paris, 1874. This is the manuscript fragment designated h.
  2. Folio 6r, 9r: "One bifolium from the 'Roman de Renart' (not from the same manuscript as fragment 1). Corresponds to v. 7063-7028 and 7281-7311 (vol. 1) of the edition of Méon, 1826." This is the manuscript fragment designated r.
