Elephant
The elephant gives birth in the water to protect the child from the dragon (not shown), which is too hot to be able to cross water. The male elephant stands guard on the shore. The text mentions the male elephant's need to eat mandrake to be able to mate. These elephants have elongated mouths that extend half way up their trunks.
