Description

Folios 69-83v: Hugh of Fouilloy, De avibus. Incipit prologus sequentis operis, Desiderii tui karissime petitionibus satisfacere cupiens…[f. 69v, Second prologue:] Item alius, Cum scribere illiterato debeam non miretur diligens lector…[Text:] Incipit libellus cuiusdam ad Ragnierum conversum cognomine corde benignum. De tribus columbis, Si dormiatis inter medios cleros penne columbe deargentate et posteriora dorsi eius in pallore auri. In sacra scriptura frater tres columbas legendo repperi…qui ad petram rostrum acuit dum se ipsum christo per bonam operationem conformem reddit.

Red initials, 5- and 4-line, with void designs on the initial itself and with leafy tendrils; 3- to 1-line plain red initials within the text filled in red; rubrics throughout.
