Description

"Miniatures, fully painted (143). Borders, fully painted, including animals and heraldic decoration.

"Made as a present for Margaret of Anjou, Queen of Henry VI, as a gift for their marriage in 1445, from John Talbot, 1st Early of Shrewsbury. Entered the collection of the British Museum, along with the Royal collection, as the gift of George II in 1757.

The volume includes three Carolingian Chansons de Geste (Simon de Pouille, Aspremont, and Fierabras); Chanson of Ogier; Quatre fils Aymon (prose romance); Poy Pontus (prose romance); Guy de Warwik and Herholt d'Ardenne (prose romances); Chanson of the Chevalier au Cygne; "L'arbre de batailes"; "Liure du gouuernement des roys et des princes; Chroniques de Normandie; 'Le breuiaire des nobles'; 'Liure des fais darmes et de cheualerie'; 'Le ordre du gartre.'
