Description

The Liber Floridus, an encyclopedia, by Lambert of Saint-Omer.

This is the Liber Floridus manuscript designated P1.

Illustrated with numerous images, diagrams and maps, though ony six images are animal related (other than some animals representing constellations). The animal images are similar in content to other Liber Floridus manuscripts, but the style is very different. The animal section is on folio 62v-65²v. The six illustrated animals are lion, griffin, dragon, crocodile, behemoth and leviathan.

There are two folios in the manuscript numbered 65; the second folio is often shown as 65bis, but is shown here as 65²r and 65²v.
