Description
The early English version of the De proprietatibus rerum of Bartholomaeus Anglicus is on folios 1r-379r. The text is not illustrated, though there are many decorated initials and borders and pen scrollwork. The text was translated from the Latin by John Trevisa. This manuscript has printers' marks throughout, suggesting that it was the source for the first English printed edition, produced in the late fifteenth century by Wynkyn de Worde.
