Description
The Latin version B Physiologus is on folio 65r-69v. Illustrated with colored line drawings.
The classification of this manuscript is uncertain. Kuhry puts it in both versions B and Y, but there are significant differences to either version. Many of the animals seen in B and Y are missing here, and the chapter order does not entirely match. On folio 68v-69r there is a section titled Medicine Bestiarus, which has one or two sentence descriptions of several animals, some of which do not appear in the main part of the Physiologus text.
From Lengenfelder:
The parchment manuscript Cod. 47 in scrinio, which was probably produced in northern Germany at the beginning of the 14th century and features colored pen drawings and initials, consists of two parts with a total of 69 sheets. Part I with 8 of the original 9 quaternions (the 1st quaternio is missing) includes sheets 1 to 64 (newer folio in pencil) with the fables of Aesop and Avian; Part II, which comes from a different manuscript but was written around the same time, contains fragments of a Physiologus on sheets 65r to 69v as well as other small pieces of text from the 'Liber de bestiis et aliis rebus' by Ps.-Hugo de St. Victor...
