The De avibus, a moralized book on birds by Hugh of Fouilloy, is on folio 3r-43r.Spaces were left for illustrations, but none were completed. There are 56 chapters present; the ibis and coot chapters are not included. The text ends with Explicit liber primus, suggesting this was considered to be Book I of the four book De bestiis et aliis rebus.
