The De rerum naturis, an encyclopedia by Rabanus Maurus. Fully illustrated with numerous fine paintings, often several per page. Book 7, chapter 8 and Book 8, chapter 1 have only an introductory image showing several animals; the rest of Book 8 has an illustration for most entries, usually small.

Some of the illustrations show similarities to those in Württembergische Landesbibliothek, Cod.theol.et.phil.fol.45, in content though not in style (e,g salamander on folio 105r).

Book 7, chapter 8 (domestic animals) is on folio 77v-86r. Book 8 (animals, fish, birds, serpents) is on folio 80v-107r.
