Description
The Bestiaire d'amour by Richard de Fournival is on folio 11v-32r, illustrated with small full color framed images. The lady's Response to the Bestiaire is on folio 32r-41v; it has five illustrations (the lady writing the Response; three of Adam and Eve; the lady confronting Richard).
This is the copy of the Bestiaire designated V.
In addition to the usual Response from the lady, this manuscript has two more responses: (Folio 41v-43v) Ici respont amis a amee apriƩs la response de la dame; (Folio 44r-52v) Ichi respont la dame contre le response au maistre. There is no indication as to the author of either response. Each response begins with an illustration of the lady talking to Richard, who is dressed as a tonsured cleric.
The manuscript also contains Bernier de Chartres, La vraie medecine d'amours (folio 1r-11r), an imitation of the Bestiaire d'amour.
