Description

Contains two sections on Prester John:

  • Folio 13r-16r: Epistola Presbyter Johannis ("The Letter of Prester John"), supposedly sent from John to the kings of Europe around 1165 CE. The letter describes the wonders of John's kingdom, including several real and imaginary animals. The section is incomplete at the start. The text is significantly different from the original twelfth century text. This manuscript may be the source for the French and Italian versions.
  • Folio 16: A short account of Prester John and his country, and how it was first discovered.
