An herbal (book of plants). Full-page miniatures on each folio of plants in colors, mostly in greens and browns, with captions, and often accompanied by small illustrations of animals, each with a label. Several of the animals pictured show attributes from Physiologus or bestiary descriptions. The animal images appear to have been painted before the plant images; in some cases the plant is painted over the animal. The animals are mostly drawn realistically, though some are very odd.
