Description
A partial copy of the Dicta Chrysostomi version of the Physiologus is on folio 1r-1v. Illustrated with pen drawings with color highlights. The illustrations are simple, and every element in each image is labeled. The Physiologus is followed by the Biblia pauperum (Bible of the Poor), so the Physiologus section may have been used for teaching. The style of the Physiologus illustrations matches that of the following bible. The illustrations and text are badly worn and faded.
Only seven animals are described and illustrated (pelican, beaver, stag, onager, goat, siren, fox), plus three more shown in the illustrations for the beaver (dog), stag (snake) and onager (ass).
