Description
The Properties of Things by Bartholomaeus Anglicusin French translation.
20 miniatures attributed to the master of Antoine de Bourgogne, including a mid-page frontispiece (255 x 215 mm) on sheet 1 and 19 small miniatures at the beginning of each book. Ornate frame on the frontispiece, edging on 3 sides for the miniatures. Initials on a golden background below the miniatures, initials at the head of the table and below the headings, filigree initials (alternately gold filigree in black and blue watermark in red).
Two illustrations are animal related. On folio 192v is a group of birds to mark the start of Book 12, and on folio 337r is a group of beasts to mark the start of Book 18..
