Pepys Library, Pepys MS 1916, otherwise known as the "Pepysian Sketchbook" ... is well known for its drawings and paintings of draped hum figures, grotesques, animals and especially birds. ... Many of the captions are badly rubbed and difficult to make out clearly. By examining the manuscript under ultra-violet light, I was able to read and transcribe tj the captions more reliably; furthermore, ultra-violet light revealed and additional eight captions...
