Sources : Arundutis
Albertus Magnus [ca. 1200-1280 CE] (De animalibus, Book 25, 9): These snakes grow up to a cubit in length. The arundutis has a sandy color, highlighted by a tracery of lines over its body. A person inflicted with its bite suffers exquisite pain at the site of the wound, where a large abscess forms and discharges a poisonous fluid. Its bite may kill on the third day, though sometimes death is delayed until after the seventh day. - [Scanlan]
