Sources : Heliodromos
Thomas of Cantimpré [circa 1200-1272 CE] (Liber de natura rerum, Birds 5.69): Kiliodromos is a bird in India which, as soon as it is born, flies east towards the sun, and returns with the sun from the west. It lives only one year, and in the middle of the season it gives birth to two young, a male and a female. Eating its flesh preserves a person against decay and many other infirmities. - [Badke translation/paraphrase]
