General Attributes

The pegasus, a horse with wings, is based on Greek mythology, where he was the son of Poseidon and Medusa. He is described as having the body of a horse with the wings of an eagle and horns on his head. Zeus, the king of the Greek gods, had Pegasus bring thunder and lightning to Earth from Olympus. The winged horse eventually became a constellation. Pegasus appears in some medieval encyclopedias.
