The orca or killer whale is found in some medieval encyclopedias. It is a whale that is the enemy of other whales and fish, and in appearance can only be described as an enormous mass of flesh with savage teeth.

Orcas were known to medieval people. They were (and are) found in the northern ocean around Norway, and in the Mediterranean Sea near Gibralter.
