A small bird that cleans the teeth of crocodiles
General Attributes
The trochilus is a small bird that goes into the jaws of crocodiles to get the food in their mouths and on their teeth. The crocodile keeps its mouth wide open to allow this. The trochilus will also fearlessly attack much larger birds, even the eagle. In winter, many of these birds gather together in a cave for warmth. They trick people who try to catch them by coming close, seeming to to invite capture, but then fly away.
