The horse of the sea
General Attributes
The sea-horse appears in some medieval encyclopedias. It is a hybrid animal, having the fore-parts of a horse, but its rear part is a fish body and tail. The sea-horse comes from Greek mythology; the sea god Poseidon had a chariot that was pulled by sea-horses.

A sea-horse taken in drink counteracts the poison of the sea-hare.
