|Codex Exoniesis: A Collection of Anglo-Saxon Poetry, From a Manuscript in the Library of the Dean and Chapter of Exeter|
|London: Society of Antiquaries, 1842|
An edition and Modern English line by line translation of the Exeter Book (Exeter Dean and Chapter MS 3501), a collection of Old English poetry and sermons. Extensive notes and commentary. Included are the Phoenix poem and the three episode Old English Physiologus (Panther, Whale, Partridge). The transcription is in an old style of typography, which makes it difficult to read. The translation is more litteral than most.
